Goddess Durga Pure antique Brass Idol

Goddess Durga was bent to fight the evil demon Mahishasura. The trinity of all three Gods Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva are came together to create a powerful female form of Goddess Durga. When Durga emerged from the water of the holy Ganga as strength, she was given a physical form by all the gods put together.

The ten arms of Lord Durga symbolize that she protects her devotees from all directions namely the eight corners and from the sky and the earth. The ten hands of Lord Durga hold in them a conch, discuss, lotus, trishul, mace, sword, bow with arrow, thunderbolt, snake and flame.

In India, every year in the festival of Navratri, Durga maa is worshipped by all to get her grace and blessings.

दुर्गा हिन्दुओं की प्रमुख देवी हैं जिन्हें देवी, शक्ति और जग्दम्बा भी कहते हैं। माता का दुर्गा देवी नाम दुर्गम नाम के महान दैत्य का वध करने के कारण पड़ा। माता ने शताक्षी स्वरूप धारण किया और उसके बाद शाकंभरी देवी के नाम से विख्यात हुई शाकंभरी देवी ने ही दुर्गमासुर का वध किया। जिसके कारण वे समस्त ब्रह्मांड में दुर्गा देवी के नाम से भी विख्यात हो गई। उनके बारे में मान्यता है कि वे शान्ति, समृद्धि तथा धर्म पर आघात करने वाली राक्षसी शक्तियों का विनाश करतीं हैं।
